David S. Goosman
Candidate for Berkeley District representative, Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors
My name is David Goosman, and I am running to be your representative from the Berkeley District on the Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors.
Spotsylvania has been my home for over 22 years. My wife Barbara and I have been blessed with over 43 years of marriage, 5 wonderful children, and 7 grandchildren—all but one of whom live right here in our beloved county.
I proudly served our country for 21 years as an active-duty Air Force officer. After retiring here in 2002, I spent seven years as a DoD contractor commuting to Northern Virginia and the last 15 years as a DoD civilian at Quantico, working with the Marine Corps.
I also serve as a deacon, treasurer, and music director at Calvary Baptist Church, where faith, family, and community guide my life. I’m honored to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Spotsylvania Economic Development Authority, the Berkeley representative on the Transportation Committee, and a former Election Chief at the John J. Wright precinct. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering and a Master’s in Information Systems.
Throughout my career, I’ve led teams into battle over Iraq, Kosovo, and Afghanistan, developed IT tools for cyber warfare, and supported my family through military moves and life’s challenges. These experiences have shaped me into a proven leader with a commitment to service, guided by faith and experience. I am ready to bring that leadership to the Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors to serve YOU.
