David S. Goosman
Candidate for Berkeley District representative, Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors
Mr. Goosman retired from the US Air Force in 2002 with over 21 years active duty service as a Mission Crew Commander with over 3000 hours on the E-3 (AWACS). Other operational experience includes assignments with NATO AWACS, Geilenkirchen, Germany; 8th Air Force Air Operations Center, Barksdale, LA; Southwest Air Defense Sector, March AFB, CA; 606 Air Control Squadron, Basdhal, Germany; and 7th Avionic Maintenance Squadron, Carswell AFB, TX. He participated in various combat operations to include Operation Northern Watch (Iraq), Operation Allied Force (Kosovo), Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), and Operation Noble Eagle (US).
He has a Masters of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Maryland University Colleges and a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Mr Goosman retired from supporting the US Marine Corps as a senior engineer at Marine Corps Systems Command at Marine Corps Base Quantico. He held several senior leadership positions and managed project teams for the past 15+ years.
He has served Spotsylvania as the current Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Authority and as the current citizen representative to the Spotsylvania Transportation Committee for the Berkely District. Additionally, Mr Goosman served as an election officer and VMO and recently served as the Chief Election Officer at the John J Wright precinct.
Mr Goosman is a Deacon, Treasurer, and Choir Director at Calvary Baptist Church where he has taught Sunday School and other ministries for the past 22+ years. He is Married to Barbara Goosman of 43 years and has 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren. He has lived in Spotsylvania for over 22 years; 19 years in the Livingston District and currently the last 3 years in the Berkely District.
