My Political Platform

A Vision for Spotsylvania

As I’ve met with many of you, one common concern stands out: preserving the rural charm of Spotsylvania that so many of us treasure. Growth is inevitable, but it must be smart growth. We need a strategy that focuses development in specific areas without disrupting the peace of our neighborhoods. I pledge to work with developers and county staff to ensure that new projects include necessary infrastructure improvements—like roads, schools, and public safety—and that developers contribute their fair share.

Another major concern is road safety, particularly in rural areas. State funds often prioritize primary and secondary roads, leaving rural roads neglected. My own family experienced this firsthand when my daughter-in-law’s car suffered significant damage due to poor road conditions while driving my grandchildren. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but this is unacceptable. As your representative, I’ll advocate for increased funding to repair and maintain rural roads, making them safer for everyone.

Supporting First Responders

We also face a critical challenge in retaining firefighters and sheriff’s deputies. Many deputies struggle to support their families due to low pay. Many first responders are forced to work excessive overtime because we simply don’t have enough personnel. This impacts response times—something no family can afford in an emergency. I will work tirelessly to eliminate waste in the county budget and ensure we can retain and properly compensate those who protect and serve us.

Better Schools for a Brighter Future

Overcrowded schools and underpaid teachers are unacceptable in a community like ours. I will partner with the school board and county administration to identify budget inefficiencies, ensuring that every dollar supports our students and teachers. Our children deserve an education that prepares them for college, trade schools, or the workforce.

Why Me?

As an engineer, I’m trained to tackle complex problems by identifying root causes and delivering practical solutions—all while staying within budget. Spotsylvania deserves better: better planning, better safety, and better schools.

As you prepare to vote on November 4th, I ask for your trust and support. Proverbs 29:18 reminds us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” My vision is clear: to keep Spotsylvania a safe, affordable, and family-friendly community that honors its rural character.

Together, we can make Berkeley better. I humbly ask for your vote on November 4th. Thank you, and God bless!
